Bambu Lab ASA is a highly durable and heat-resistant 3D printing material. Compared to standard PETG or ABS, Bambu Lab ASA can maintain its shape at temperatures up to 100°C. Furthermore, Bambu Lab ASA has excellent UV resistance, which effectively reduces damage and fading from prolonged outdoor use. Its unique combination of toughness, mechanical strength, and high impact resistance makes it ideal for creating structural components that must withstand harsh outdoor weather conditions.

Note:

  • Bambu Lab ASA requires enclosure printers. For Bambu Lab printers, ASA is compatible with the P-Series and H-Series.
  • Bambu Lab ASA is not compatible with AMS Lite.

【Frequently Askes Questions (FAQs)】

  1. What is the difference between ABS and ASA?

    ABS = Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene
    ASA = Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate

    The primary difference lies in their chemical composition, making ASA an improved version of ABS. ASA uses acrylate instead of butadiene, which allows it to retain the excellent impact resistance of ABS while significantly improving its heat and UV resistance. This change effectively reduces the fading, yellowing, and aging caused by prolonged sun exposure. Moreover, ASA releases a milder odor than ABS during the printing process.

  2. How do I choose between ABS and ASA for my application?

    ASA's superior outdoor performance and color stability make it the ideal choice for objects exposed to sunlight for extended periods, such as automotive exterior parts, outdoor signage, and mailboxes.

    While ABS's heat resistance is not as high as ASA's, it remains a versatile material with excellent mechanical properties. It is widely used for indoor engineering components like load-bearing hooks or shelf supports.
